An abundance of local attractions
Portstewart is Northern Ireland's premier holiday resort and was named as the regional winner in the annual Sunday Times Best Places to Live guide for 2023. The popular tourist destination was praised for its sandy beach, shops, cafés and interesting cultural scene. Its famous beach is among the best in Ireland.
Nestled in a prime location in a private holiday village near the heart of the town, Seabird Apartment provides easy access to the vibrant charms of the town. It is a peaceful hideaway where you can wind down, escape from the pressures of everyday life and feel free as a bird to explore the delights of Portstewart and the Causeway Coast.
A short walk brings you down to its seafront promenade, with an amazing array of popular shops, famous ice cream outlets, cafes and excellent restaurants. At one end of the promenade there is a scenic harbour where you can try your skill (or luck) on a fishing trip, indulge in high-speed boat trips round the bay or gentler boat tours to see the outstanding beauty of the Causeway Coast – or even try your hand at diving.

At the other end of the promenade is a short, scenic walk past the Dominican convent to that famous beach, where you can walk, swim or just sunbathe to your heart’s content. Discover the area's other water adventures with body boarding, surfing, windsurfing, sailing and more swimming all nearby.
There are also several marinas in the area with water sports and power boating.
For the more energetic among you, there are lovely coastal walks on your doorstep and, for keen hikers, there is easy access to the Ulster Way and Causeway Coast Way. There are also plenty of opportunities for cyclists and horse riders to enjoy the great outdoors.
Travelling with kids? Don’t forget to treat them to a trip to Curry’s (formerly Barry's) Amusements – the highlight of every youngster’s holiday. Or they would also enjoy trips to the cinema and Jet Centre entertainment complex in Coleraine.
Three of the top five Links Golf Courses in N.Ireland are within 20 minutes’ drive. Portstewart Golf Club is worth checking out – and the Open Championship returns to Royal Portrush Golf Club in July 2025.

Damhead Miniature Railway and Moorbrook trout fishery are also worth visiting.

Further from the town, there are also plenty of options for exploring Portrush, Bushmills, the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Bushmills Whiskey Distillery, the Dark Hedges and the famous Causeway Coast & Glens by car, public transport or boat tour from the town. Whitepark Bay Beach and the postcard-pretty villages of Cushendun and Ballintoy are all within easy reach. Aquaholics even run a Game of Thrones tour of the local sites used for filming the series. And don’t forget to check out the views from Binevenagh viewpoint.
For the shopaholics among you, there are great opportunities to indulge yourselves in Portrush, Coleraine, Ballymoney and Limavady. Even Ballymena and the Walled City of Derry/Londonderry are within easy reach and it is just over an hour's drive to Belfast / The Titanic Centre.
